Coach or Athlete Testing Positive for COVID-19

When a coach or athlete tests positive for COVID-19, whether vaccinated or not, they must quarantine for 5 days. If they have no symptoms or their symptoms are resolved after 5 days, that player/coach may return to MN Select while wearing a mask for 5 days when around others. MN Select requires those returning after the quarantine to wear a tight fitting mask at all times and social distance when possible. The first day of isolation is considered day 0 (zero) starting from the day the person started having symptoms, or from the day the test was taken (if there were no symptoms). Coaches should report their positive test result to club admin via email to info@mnselect.com as well as their co-coach(es) and team members. Parents should report their athlete’s positive test result to their team coaches AND via email to info@mnselect.com.

No Contact Tracing or Quarantining Moving Forward

There will no longer be any close contact tracing at MN Select. Instead, team coaches and/or the admin team will notify the entire team by email of any possible exposures to someone who has tested positive for COVID-19, as well as provide recommendations for testing. We will also attempt to learn of and notify families when there has been a possible exposure due to another interaction between athletes and/or coaches (in position practice, ride sharing, working together in admissions or concessions, etc.).

Coach or Athlete Household Member of Positive Individual

All unvaccinated persons, anyone who has completed Pfizer or Moderna primary vaccine series more than 6 months ago and are not boosted, or those who have not had COVID-19 in the past 90 days, who live in a household with someone who has tested positive must quarantine for 5 days. Household members have the option to test on or after day 5 and may return on day 6 wearing a tight fitting mask for 5 days.  Vaccinated individuals with a booster, or those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days, do not need to quarantine but should wear a mask for 10 days.

These policies are based on the CDC guidelines published December 27th, 2021. As always, we will continue to monitor and assess our mitigation strategies and modify them if/when it is determined prudent to do so.  Further, we continuously track local community, county, state and national conditions to guide us in our decision-making. Thank you for your continued support as we continue to take steps to keep our players and coaches safe.
