Minnesota Select has hired Kayla Cole to serve as an Associate Director.

Kayla is a 2008 graduate of Bethel University where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in K-12 Spanish Education and Elementary Education. During her four years at Bethel, she was a four-year starter and a two-year captain. She has since earned a Masters of Education from Concordia University-St. Paul in 2012 and has spent the previous 9 years teaching. Alongside teaching, she has spent 9 years coaching High School and Club volleyball, including assistant positions at Shakopee and Lakeville North High School, and is in her fourth season as the Head Coach at Totino-Grace High School. In 2011, she assisted Lakeville North to a second place finish in the AAA Minnesota State Tournament.

Kayla has spent the past 5 years at Minnesota Select Volleyball Club. During her time as a coach at MN Select, she was the Head Coach of the 16-1 team who finished 5th in 16-Open at AAU Nationals in 2015. Most recently she served as the Head Coach of the 15-1 team in 2017. She holds current USA CAP I and CAP II certifications.

In addition to coaching High School and Club volleyball, Kayla has coached USA Volleyball High Performance since 2009. Kayla was a 2015 recipient of the AVCA 30 Under 30 Award which recognizes up and coming coaching talent nationally.

“Kayla brings many wonderful attributes to our leadership and administrative team at MN Select. She has proven herself a successful coach, mentor, and recruiting coordinator for MN Select already. I expect her talents, organizational skills, and thoughtfulness to really make a significant impact as we continue to push ourselves to provide the best opportunities for all of our participants. Really the most important attribute she possesses that will help us in this regard is how much she cares about the players of MN Select. She will work tirelessly for our members,” said Club Director Scott Jackson.

“I have enjoyed my work with Minnesota Select as a coach and I am excited for the opportunity to invest even more in an administrative role,” said Kayla. “Minnesota Select is committed to their athletes, coaches and growing the game in the region and I look forward to being a part of that.”

Kayla joined the administrative team the beginning of September.
